BMW N54 TDO4 Viv Repair kits

Here is our selection of Viv turbo repair parts. The wastegate flap repair kit for the Viv turbos is the same fitment as MMP, OEM MHI, Vargas and RB.

The viv rebuild kits are not the same as TDO3 and they aren’t the same as TDO4 either. The turbine shafts in the Viv turbos aren’t machined to fit the tdo3 or tdo4 journal bearings. The journal bearing are a special size. 

The Viv TDO4 rebuild kit consists of a TDO4 thrust bearing but the hole for the dowel pin is sometimes on the opposite side so we include the bearing drilled on both sides. Our kit includes a TDO4 14mm thrust collar and 14mm wide spacer which is an upgrade designed to provide more surface area on the thrust bearing for increased durability. The thrust bearing is copper bar with 2 oil ports, the purpose is to provide increased oiling. This upgrade to the thrust system is important and it increased the durability so the turbo chargers can operate at increased boost pressures into the 30 psi range without risk of failure.

The machined from copper bar material for the thrust bearing is critical, some aftermarket thrust bearings are made from copper powder process which often crack from high heat. Steel thrust bearings are ineffective of removing heat which cause very quick failure even with dual oil ports. The thrust bearing we use in this kit we have used since 2011 and had perfect results with their durability, we still have not seen a thrust bearing failure from the upgraded bearing.
